How does Generate QR code work?

What is Scan-to-Pay?
Scan-to-Pay is also known as QR payments where customers scan a QR code to settle their purchase. To become a Scan-to-Pay merchant, simply fill in the details asked in this form.
Once you get approved for the Scan-to-pay option, you will receive a QR kit and Gcash promotional materials. This includes a QR code display customers can scan.
As an enterprise merchant, on top of the kit, you will receive a phone specifically for Gcash transactions. Also, you can gain access to a portal to view real-time Gcash transactions plus a separate support team dedicated for merchants.
How does Scan-to-pay payment work?
The customers scan the QR code at the cashier or POS using their Gcash app. Once done, they have to input the amount of purchase and a confirmation SMS is sent to both the customer and merchant.
For both Generate QR code and Scan-to-pay options, Gcredit is available, as long as the merchant is registered under the system. The Gcash user must change the preferred method of payment to Gcredit before tapping on the Pay button.
How does GCash settle my account?
Gcash payments made via online payment or scan-to-pay, although considered cashless, are as good as cash payments. The amount paid is reflected automatically in your Gcash wallet for individual owners and next business direct settlement to the nominated bank account for business enterprises.
Gcash sends daily transaction reports as an additional feature for enterprise.
Bear in mind that for individual merchants, a limit of Php 100,000 (Php 500,000 if you linked a bank account) per month. Whereas, business entities have no limits.

Is there a fee for signing up to this process?
The “fee” is different for single owners and enterprises.

What does it mean when I get the “balance not enough” error?
The “balance not enough” error usually happens when you use the Generate QR Code method. This is when the Gcash user didn’t check their balance prior to paying for their purchase.
What if I didn’t receive a confirmation SMS after the scan-to-pay transaction?
When this happens you can do any of the following:
- Call Gcash Hotline or
- Send SMS to 2261 to GCash using the provided feature phone
Gcashcheck <Gcash Reference Number> <Gcash Display Name>
From then, you should be able to get a confirmation if the transaction went through or not.
