Once your Gcash account registration has been successful, you have to do the next step to fully enjoy what Gcash can offer. The next stage is verification, wherein you will submit documents that serve as proof of your identity. Gcash usually provides the full verification process within its app. It’s not necessary that you go somewhere else, such as on its website or Facebook page, to verify your account. You can do everything at once in its app. One of the documents needed when to verify your account is a valid ID. What is Gcash Valid ID?
A valid ID is any identification card issued by the government or private employer of the holder. It usually bears the name of the holder, address, birth date, and other essential information about him/her. Some of the good examples of valid IDs acceptable here in the Philippines are SSS ID, UMID, PAG-IBIG ID, Passport, Driver’s License, and PRC ID.
List of IDs valid for Gcash
Gcash provides a list of valid IDs that can be used for verification. According to Gcash, the recommended IDs they accept are
- Driver’s License
- Social Security System (SSS) ID
- UMID
- Voter’s ID
- Postal ID
- Passport
- Philhealth ID (laminated)
- Alien Certification of Registration (ACR) / Immigrant Certificate of Registration
- Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) ID
- Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ID
- Government Office and Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation (GOCC) ID (e.g., Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ID)
Those are other IDs that can be submitted to Gcash upon verification.
Verify Your Gcash Account
To verify your Gcash account using your valid IDs, prepare to log in to your account. Once you are done logging in, find the menu, and choose “Verify Now.” Select “Get Fully Verified.” After that, Gcash will ask for your Valid ID. Choose among the options mentioned above and take a photo of it. Upload it and just follow the next instructions until you can submit all the information you input.
What if I don’t have an ID?
If you don’t have an ID yet, don’t worry. Gcash accepts student ID if you are a student and not yet employed. If you are neither a student nor employed, you can start obtaining an ID from the government. There are different agencies that offer valid IDs, such as SSS, Philhealth, and Pag-ibig. Even if you are self-employed, you can still get an ID from them.
Where can I get a valid ID?
Most valid IDs are issued by the government. There are agencies where you can get your valid IDs from. UMID is a common valid ID used by many Filipinos. It can be obtained by going to any SSS branch and submitting your application for the said ID. The agency requires you to have at least 3 paid contributions before you can get your UMID. Philhealth and Pag-Ibig also issue IDs. It is easier to get your Philhealth ID because this is issued by the local government unit, like your municipality. Other IDs such as passport can be obtained from the DFA and Driver’s License from the LTO.
