How do you prove that a transaction is successful? It always boils down to proof of purchase with a receipt number. And for Gcash, it would be the Gcash reference number.
Gcash Reference Number
A Gcash reference number is a unique identifier or code for every successful Gcash transaction.
Gcash Reference Number Sample: Ref. No. 1001 543 610110
Where can I find the Gcash Reference Number?
For every successful transaction, you will be directed to the confirmation page. In addition, you will receive an email and a text message that include the details of the transaction. Information includes the amount, type of transaction (transfers, payments, etc.), date, and reference number.
The 13-digit code can also be found in the transaction history. Follow the instructions below:
Step 1. On the dashboard, tap on TRANSACTIONS at the bottom of the dashboard.
Step 2. Click on the details of the specific transaction you want to check.
Step 3. You will see all the information in relation to the transaction, including the date and reference number.
What is the Gcash Reference Number for?
The 13-digit code is used as a reference for the payment or transfer. Bottom line: it serves as a reference for accounting purposes.
In addition, this comes in handy whenever you run into a problem with the process. One example is when you have not received the amount someone else transferred to your account. When you report the incident to the Gcash help center, it’ll be easier for them to track the specific activity with your Gcash registered mobile number and reference number.
Gcash reference number versus remittance reference number
Some people might interchange and find Gcash and remittance reference numbers confusing.
- The Gcash reference number has 13 digits or characters, while the remittance reference number has 8 to 10. For Moneygram, they ask for an 8-digit reference number to process cash. Western Union requires a 10-digit MTCN to proceed with the withdrawal.
- The latter expires in 30 days, whereas the former has no expiration.
- Input versus output The remittance number, or MTCN (mobile transfer control number), is needed to withdraw the funds sent to you via international remittance. The former, provided by Gcash, is generated after the transaction is complete.
- The remittance is only used when you transact with international remittances like Western Union and Moneygram. All GCash activities end with a GCash reference number.
To clarify further, the remittance number is automatically generated from the sender’s end. Before attempting to cash in, ensure you have the number to complete the cash-in process.
Bottom line: You can be sure that the transaction was successful once you receive the reference number, either in the form of a text message or sent to your email.

Where do i find if the given referal code was true, from sender to my gcash acc. He send me money gcash at 12pm oct 13, until now 3:35 i wasnt receive money but they send me a proof of payment or receipt. Can you help me with that?
Hello sir, Anyone can edit reference numbers nowadays. The only safe way to know if it is true or not is to have a live video call with the sender and let him show you his GCash transaction history and details about the ref number live.
PAANO KO PO MALALAMAN NA SUCCESSFUL OR NATRANSFERRED NA SA CONVERGE YUNG PAYMENT KO KASE PO WALANG NAGTETEXT SA AKIN NA KATUNAYAN NA RECEIVED OR NAKA POST NA SYA SA SYSTEM NG CONVERGE. SALAMAT PO 🙂
Open Your Gcash po then Click Activity sa bandang ibaba.
